Pennsylvania Supreme Court Announces
Disciplinary Board Changes

HARRISBURG, February 6, 2003 — The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania today announced the appointment of two new members to the Disciplinary Board and other organizational changes.

The new members are: Jonathan H. Newman, Esq., Philadelphia, was appointed to a three-year term, beginning January 29, 2003. Justice Sandra Schultz Newman did not participate in the appointment.

Marc S. Raspanti, Esq., also of Philadelphia, was appointed to a three-year term, commencing January 29, 2003.

Charles J. Cunningham III, Esq., Philadelphia, was designated chair and Richard W. Stewart, Esq., Cumberland County, vice chair.

The 16-member Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court in 1972 to consider and investigate the conduct of any person subject to the Pennsylvania Rules of Disciplinary Enforcement. Such persons include any:

• attorney admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania
• attorney of another jurisdiction specially admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court for a particular proceeding
• disbarred, suspended or inactive attorney, with respect to violation of any rulescommitted prior to disbarment, suspension or transfer to inactivity
• justice, judge or district justice, with respect to any violation of rules committed prior to taking office, if the Judicial Conduct Board declines jurisdiction
• attorney who resumes practice of law, with respect to any nonjudicial acts
