Pennsylvania Supreme Court Appoints Klett
to the Judicial Conduct Board

HARRISBURG, September 5, 2006 - The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has announced the appointment of Edwin L. Klett, Esq., to the Judicial Conduct Board.

Klett, a Pittsburgh trial attorney, was appointed to a four-year term that began Aug. 16, 2006. He has a background in corporate law, banking, securities and business matters.

The Judicial Conduct Board consists of three judges, three lawyers and six non-lawyers. The board was created by constitutional amendment in 1993 to act as an independent state agency.

Half of the board members are chosen by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and the remainder by the governor. Members serve four-year terms without pay.

Board members investigate complaints of judicial misconduct and, if warranted, file formal charges against an accused judge with the Court of Judicial Discipline.
