Pennsylvania Supreme Court Announces
Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board Appointment
HARRISBURG, November 13, 2006 - The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania
today announced the appointment of Charlotte S. Jefferies, Esq., to the
Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board.
Jefferies, of Allegheny County, was appointed for a term expiring November
3, 2009.
The 16-member Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court in 1972 to
consider and investigate the conduct of any person subject to the Pennsylvania
Rules of Disciplinary Enforcement. Such persons include any:
- attorney admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania
- attorney of another jurisdiction specially admitted to the bar of the
Supreme Court for a particular proceeding
- disbarred, suspended or inactive attorney, with respect to violation of any
rules committed prior to disbarment, suspension or transfer to inactivity
- justice, judge or magisterial district judge, with respect to any violation
of rules committed prior to taking office, if the Judicial Conduct Board
declines jurisdiction
- attorney who resumes practice of law, with respect to any non-judicial
acts.
