VERSION 4 Modification 4.30 December 19, 2000 Page 1 of 2 VICTIM WITNESS SERVICES COST ACT 86-2000 Pursuant to 18 P.S. § 11.1101(b)(1)(2) a new cost, Victim Witness Services (VWS), has been created and will replace the Commission on Crime and Delinquency (CCD) cost. The cost codes affected are C0, C6, C7, C8, C19, C20, C21, CA8 and CA15. By statute, the amount of the new VWS cost is $25.00. Further, the total amount that must be imposed for both the Crime Victim Compensation (CVC) and VWS costs will increase from $30.00 to $40.00. If the District Justice imposes a higher amount, use cost code CA8. The VWS cost will be imposed on cases with a file date on or after December 29, 2000 and after a disposition of Guilty Plea (GP), Guilty at Trial (GT), or Accelerated Rehab Disp (ARD) has been recorded. You are scheduled to receive the 2001 DJS cost table on Wednesday, December 20. BROWN BOARD (OTHER RECEIPTS INCOME REPORT REV-753EX) CHANGES The Brown Board has been modified in two ways. First, a charge and associated description will no longer display on the Brown Board if that charge has a disposition of DIS (Dismissed/Discharged), CHG (Charge Changed), or WD (Withdrawn). Instead, in a criminal case, the income report will display the charge information for the first charge that does not have a disposition of DIS, CHG, or WD. Second, when a case with a charge allocating a disbursement to the CAT surcharge and the EMS fine is reported on the Brown Board, the description "Title 75 Charge(s) Exist" will now print below the charge. Since the Brown Board does not have columns for EMS and CAT, this message will signal situations where there are inconsistencies between the totals from the income reports and the totals on the Summary of Collections report.
