                            FINE AMOUNT CHANGE

In the past few weeks the DJS Help Desk has received several calls 
regarding the fine amount for Accidents Involving Overturned Vehicles,
Section 3716 Sub-section A of the Vehicle Code (Title 75).   This
section of the Vehicle Code was amended by Act 37 of 2001, which was 
signed by the Governor on June 22, 2001 and became effective on
August 21, 2001.  A violation of Section 3716 Sub-section A now 
carries a fine amount of $2,000.  Prior to August 21, 2001, the 
fine was to be not less than $500 nor more than $1,500.  The DJS
was modified to reflect this change in the fine amount.
