(repealed), which authorized the Supreme Court to promulgate rules of procedure governing civil actions at law and in equity for the Courts of Common Pleas and provided for the establishment of "a Procedural Rules Committee ... to assist the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in preparation, revision, promulgation, publication and administration" of the rules. The committee, which is the oldest of the Supreme Court's committees, presently continues in that function. The work of the committee includes all aspects of civil practice before the Courts of Common Pleas except those relating to the Orphans' Court and Family Court divisions. Jerrold P. Anders, Esq.
