In addition to the annual salary listed for each position, the judiciary offers full time employees a comprehensive fringe benefits package that includes retirement plans, employer provided medical coverage and life insurance, holiday and paid leave, and a variety of voluntary programs.

Holidays and Paid Leave
Thirteen scheduled holidays per year
Vacation leave accrued based on length of service (0-2 years = 10 days) 
Sixteen days of sick/disability leave accrued per year
Two personal days per year

Retirement Plan – State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS)
Mandatory employee contributions = 6.25% of gross salary
Defined benefit pension plan (based on salary and length of service)
Vesting after 5 years (with in-service death & disability benefits)

Voluntary Deferred Compensation Plan (IRC Section 457)
Allows tax-deferred contributions up to specified annual IRS limits
Wide choice of investment options

Employer Provided Medical Insurance Plans
Comprehensive hospital and medical/surgical coverage
Supplemental dental, vision, and prescription drug plans
Covers full time employees & eligible dependents

Employer Provided Term Life Insurance
Equal to annual salary up to maximum of $50,000

Employee Assistance Program
Offers confidential counseling and referral services to employees and their eligible dependents

Voluntary Life Insurance Plan
Option to purchase "guarantee issue" life insurance up to 3 times salary
Option to purchase additional insurance for total of 5 times annual salary
Coverage may also be purchased for a spouse and eligible dependents

Voluntary Long Term Disability Insurance Plan
Option to purchase "guarantee issue" disability coverage
Plan pays 40% of gross salary for approved disability

Voluntary Long Term Care (LTC) Insurance Plan
Option to purchase LTC coverage on a "guarantee issue" basis
Choice of daily benefit amount, benefit period, and inflation options
Coverage may be purchased for a spouse and other eligible family members

Dependent Care Accounts
Allows pre-tax dollars to be used for eligible dependent care expenses
Employee chooses payroll deduction amount based on estimated costs
Maximum annual contribution allowed by IRS = $5,000

Qualified Transportation Expense Program
Allows pre-tax dollars to be used for qualified parking / transit expenses
IRS qualified parking limit - $230 per month
IRS qualified transit pass limit - $230 per month
