The Judicial Education Department provides continuing education to Pennsylvania's more than 1,000 elected jurists through teaching programs, conferences and specially designed symposia. These educational offerings are designed to address new and emerging areas of law and also to meet the needs and desires of judges.
The department develops programs for the annual Appellate Courts Conference, which serve members of the Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth Courts; the semi-annual meetings of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges, which serve members of the Common Pleas Courts; and, on a periodic basis, special symposia held throughout the Commonwealth to give jurists the opportunity for in-depth examination of specific areas of law in small, intensive groups.
