Public Access Policy of the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania: Official Case Records of the Magisterial District Courts
In accordance with the Judicial Code, 42 Pa.C.S. § 4301(b), the following policy has been approved by the Supreme Court effective July 1, 2010.

Electronic Case Records
The Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts is seeking comments on proposed amendments to the Electronic Case Record Public Access Policy of the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania. The deadline for receipt of public comments is March 5, 2012.
In accordance with the Judicial Code, 42 Pa.C.S. §4301(b), the attached policy has been approved by the Supreme Court effective January 1, 2007.
Financial Records
On May 14, 2007, the Supreme Court adopted Rule 509 of the Rules of Judicial Administration. Effective July 1, 2007, Rule 509 establishes a systematic process for requesting and accessing state court system records that deal with the use of public funds, including the purchase of services, supplies or equipment.
The Supreme Court amended Rule 509, effective January 1, 2009, to include the local court systems (judicial districts) within the rule’s scope and to require the establishment of a Web site for contract postings.

The Web site displays summary information on purchase orders and contracts of $5000 or more that were executed on or after July 1, 2008.
